Governance

Pembrokeshire has an Aquatics Pathway to be proud of. Being a coastline county, we have many aquatic activities going on within the county that have not yet been plotted on our pathway. The foundation of our pathway lies with the Learn-to-Swim scheme and the Development Swimming Clubs.

All our learn-to-swim programme to ran by the local authority, Pembrokeshire County Council. We view the school swimming programme as an extension of our Learn-to-Swim and a ‘pool’ of opportunity to draw from. Both our school programme and Learn-to-Swim programme are overseen by co-ordinators.

Our clubs remain independent from the Local Authority but work in partnership with their individual centres, liaising with both managers and coordinators. All clubs are represented in Pembrokeshire County Swimming and only the clubs have a voting right within the committee on decisions.
